Cutting Things Short
From experience, moving to another country is an eye-opening experience. You are constantly surprised by small things, even mundane ones, as a lot of these things are new, unusual and often surprising. The first few weeks are nothing more than a constant string of “Hmm, that’s unusual”.
And then you get used to it.
I am getting used to so many Belgian things, in fact, that it took a close friend of mine to point out something that should have been rather obvious – the Belgians take a serious approach to pruning:
