Quick One For The Regulars

Double post today as I have a few points I’d like to share with my regular and faithful subscribers.

A few unexpected changes in the software I use means that you can now rate the blog posts while you read them. When you read a story, you will notice a “Rate This!” message at the beginning of every post next to a few stars.  Moving the mouse cursor over the stars lets you vote for your favourite blog posts.  Please go ahead and let me know what you enjoy reading and, more importantly, what you don’t enjoy reading. The blog is only a blog if it has readers and if you like something, I’ll do my best to give you more of the same.  (I might move the stars below the post rather than above – haven’t decided on this yet)

I’ve noticed a few odd quirks in the subscription mechanism over the past few days too.  On Tue of this week, some of you received the post entitled “The Key To Salvation” again despite it having run at the beginning of June.  This only happened to those of you subscribed by e-mail; anyone reading this via RSS didn’t get the repeat.  I’m working on teaching the elves at Google how to read a calendar but you may see this happening a few more times until we fix it. If all else fails, I’ll whack them on the head.

I’m also pleased to announce that the blog has entered its seventh month of encountering and describing oddities wherever I go. I’d like to thank the loyal readers who’ve been following from the very beginning. If you like what you read, please share the love by forwarding links to all your friends. (Except the odd ones of course, but if you’re intelligent enough to read this blog, then you probably don’t have odd friends, right?).  If necessary, use the links below to help them subscribe:

  1. I have so many odd collegues where I work, would they count as odd friends? :)

  2. Hey Kevin,

    Oddly enough, they might!

  3. I saw a lot of ‘odd balls’ in my life and always tried to keep a distance from them – to preserve the gene purity!!

  4. I know exactly what you mean … with the swine flu virus doing the rounds, everyone talks about hygiene but no one talks about chlorinating the gene pool
    :-)
